Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame for his role as a character on "Saturday Night Live,"
before appearing on such major-screen comedies as 'Elf,"Anchorman,"
"Talladega Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine in the year 1967. He
started his career in comedy as a member the Los Angeles-based group The
Groundlings. He was an Saturday Night Live cast member for seven years , and he
became a huge comedic draw with off-color films, like Old School 2003 and
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was also the co-founder of
the popular video streaming website Funny or Die, and enjoyed success as a
voiceover actor in animated films such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell
was conceived in Irvine, California on July 16th 1967. Will Ferrell is the
eldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell (and Kay Ferrell),
however, he wasn't exactly a school clown while he was at University High
School. He was calm and reserved but he did choose to be a football player and
set a school record for the most field goals scored. Ferrell did not exhibit
the outlandish, humorous behavior that would be the hallmark of his career and
even at his suburban home. In an interview with Esquire, his mother said that
Ferrell was "very calm and even-tempered. He was very easygoing."
"You have seen those cute Matchbox cars? Will would be completely happy if
he lined up all of his Matchbox cars by himself. You'd ask "Do you want to
go Disneyland today?" or "You want your cars lined up?" That
would be a challenging conversation for him to think about. Ferrell was not a
perfect straight man but that's certainly not to say that he wasn't. One of
Ferrell's comedy talent was displayed every morning in high school, when he
disguised himself and announced the day's events over the PA system. After
graduation in 1986 Ferrell went to the University of Southern California at Los
Angeles, where he was a member of Delta Tau, the Delta Tau fraternity and
pursued the field of sports journalism with a degree.
