Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is known for his sharp-witted and sly characters in action films. He has been in over $2.5 billion dollars of films. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor, was born in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany on March 19 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived on a base for the military in the United States. The family relocated to the U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey in which his mother worked in a bank and where his father was a welding and factory worker. Willis was drawn to drama during high school. When he worked at an New York City café, it was reported that he was "discovered". Then, he went on to appear in a few off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night and he was noticed by an acting director who liked his persona and was in need of bartenders for a tiny film role. Willis was part of numerous auditions prior to getting the role in the well-known romantic comedy, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. His witty and sarcastic P.I. Some believe it's an exercise in preparation for Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought a gang international of thieves who were stealing from an Los Angeles skyscraper. The actor reprised his role as McClane in the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) and was set in snow-covered Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to bring back a corrupt South American general. The sequel, Die hard with revenge (1995) was a hit. It starred Samuel L. Jackson as an unrepentant Harlem shop owner who has to assist McClane in a bombing spree that takes place on a hot New York day.
