Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977 in Miami, Florida. He's an American electro house musician recording producer, D.J. & music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler who founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older siblings, a sister Kana (who is sometimes called Grace, her middle name) Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). The half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. The family was raised in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, in which he was a part of the varsity badminton club. After graduation from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, he attended UC Santa Barbara. He earned two degrees: one in sociology and one in feminist studies. He was a college student who produced records by himself and hosted underground music in his Biko space in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The venue was used for concerts, and the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He was also involved in student protests at UCSB as the founder of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. In his early 20s Dim Mak was establishing his own record company, known as Dim Mak in honor of his hero from childhood Bruce Lee. In March of 2010, he came out with I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq-like alter-ego of the Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The track peaked at the top of the charts at No. The track reached the position of No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within the first week of its the release. It later entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 in both charts. The song was also featured on the MTV show Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on a single. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours. His collaborations include artists such Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's known for remixes with artists such as Kid Cudi
