Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor since 11 November 1996. She made her debut in a feature film by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte appeared in Taffin (in 1998) and Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody was invited by a photographer, and began to take on the role of model. Doody then began to build her career as a commercial model. Doody did not like glamour or nude modeling, which that was carried into her acting. After being spotted by to the director of casting for a new James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody's name was featured in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising actors from 1986. 38. Doody was only aged 18 when she made her appearance in the Bond role. To date Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. Another film from her early days was a small part as IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody appeared as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took possibly her most famous role in her career in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody acted in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indy's father. In 1991 Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She later moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. Doody came back to acting in 2003, playing a small performance as a character in her role in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at the awards ceremony. Doody acted alongside Patrick Swayze in a 2004 television movie adaptation to King Solomon's Mines and also starred in a short called Benjamin's Struggle (2005) a pamphlet about the Holocaust and also in the British TV program Waking the Dead (in a two-part show named. in 2010 Doody played a role of Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). The following year, she had been scheduled to be the main character in The Asphyx remake, but the project was cancelled. In 2011 she began the first of two seasons on E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). She was given the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on 21 November 2018.
