Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby (a lawyer) and Chris Watson (a French mother). When she was just five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire where she attended Dragon School. Emma knew she wanted to be an actor from when she was six years old. She studied for a few years at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. This part-time theatre school taught her singing, dancing, and acting. By the time she reached the age of 10, she had appeared and acted as the lead in numerous Stagecoach productions and school plays. Casting began in 1999 Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone 2001 the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book. Casting agents discovered Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consistent auditions director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, that they were selected to play the three leads: Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance in a cinema was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). It was the highest-grossing movie of 2001, breaking records in terms of opening day sales as well as opening-weekend take-offs. The film's performances and those of its young stars were praised by reviewers. The Daily Telegraph, a British publication with a significant circulation, said that her performance was "admirable". Emma won the Young Artist Award as Leading Young Actress in an Film Film in the same year, and was nominated for a further five awards. Emma rose to fame after the success of the debut film of the series. For a total of ten years she was the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma was awarded two Critics' Choice Awards nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her role in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
